Today we take a look at the State of The Nation Address, as delivered on 9 February 2017 by President Jacob Zuma, the president of the Republic of South Africa.
The State of the Nation Address is an annual event, in which the President reports on the status of the nation, during the joint sitting of Parliament.
It always comes with its own spectacle, but beyond the spectacle what are the core issues of what the President is talking about. We speak to three distinguish gentlemen, Dr Siphamandla Zondi, Mr Tshetlhe Litheko and Councillor Joel Kgomotso Masilela Mahlangu.
Dr Siphamandla Zondi is with the department of Political sciences at the University of Pretoria. He is also with the Institute of strategic and political affairs at UP. He is also a member of the Archie Mafeje institute which is dedicated to Afrocentric scholarship. He is also the director of the Institute for Global Dialogue.
Mr Tshetlhe Litheko who is famously known as the thinking patriot is an expert development and engagement specialist with management expertise in Social Development, Enterprise development, Rural development and Innovation inclusiveness.
Mr Joel Kgomotso Masilela Mahlangu is a Ward Councillor of the City of Tshwane municipality.
